1. Introduction

BillPro POS (“App”) is an offline/online point-of-sale and billing application developed by the BillPro Team (“we”, “us”, or “our”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use the App.

By installing or using BillPro POS, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

2. Information We Collect

The App is designed mainly for business use (billing, inventory, customers, etc.). Depending on how you use it, we may process the following data:

  • Business & shop information – shop name, address, GST or tax details, contact details.
  • Customer and supplier data – names, phone numbers, email, addresses and transaction history you choose to enter.
  • Product & order data – item names, prices, stock, invoices, expense records and POS transactions.
  • Device information – device model, operating system, language and basic technical details (for app performance and debugging).
  • Log / diagnostic information – crash reports and basic analytics to improve stability and features (if enabled).

3. App Permissions and How We Use Them

BillPro POS requests the following Android permissions strictly to provide core app features. We do not access these permissions for any purpose other than those mentioned below.

android.permission.INTERNET Used to sync data (if you choose online sync), check for updates, verify license and communicate with our server or optional cloud backup services. The App can still work offline for core billing features.
android.permission.READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE
android.permission.WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE
Used to export or import backup files (e.g., database, reports, PDFs, invoices) and to store images/documents related to your business. We only access folders/files that you choose through the file picker. We do not scan or upload your personal photos, videos or other unrelated files.
android.permission.CAMERA Used to scan barcodes/QR codes for products or bills and, where supported, to capture images (e.g., product photos, bill copies). Camera data is processed locally on the device and not stored or shared without your action.
android.permission.GET_ACCOUNTS Used only to let you select an email/account (for backup, login, or sending reports) without typing it manually. We do not access your password or sensitive account data.

Used to discover, pair and connect with supported Bluetooth printers, barcode scanners, cash drawers and POS hardware. Bluetooth is used only to send/receive data required for printing or device communication. We do not share this data with third parties.

You can manage or revoke permissions anytime from your device’s system settings. However, some features may stop working correctly if a required permission is disabled.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for the following purposes:

  • To provide core POS features such as billing, invoicing, inventory and customer management.
  • To generate reports, analytics and summaries of your sales and expenses.
  • To create local or cloud backups (if you enable them) so you don’t lose data.
  • To improve the App’s performance, user experience and security.
  • To provide customer support and respond to your inquiries.
  • To comply with any legal obligations where applicable.

5. Data Storage & Security

  • Most data is stored locally on your device or in the storage location you select.
  • If you enable online sync or cloud backup, data may be stored securely on our servers or third-party cloud services chosen by you.
  • We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration or loss.
  • However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Sharing of Information

We do not sell or rent your business, customer or transaction data to any third party. Information may only be shared in the following limited situations:

  • With service providers who help us with hosting, analytics or backups and are bound by confidentiality obligations.
  • When you explicitly choose to share invoices, reports or backups through email, messaging or other apps.
  • If required by law, regulation, legal process or governmental request.

7. Children’s Privacy

BillPro POS is intended for use by businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 years of age. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can delete it.

8. Your Choices & Rights

  • You may update or delete business data directly within the App.
  • You can uninstall the App at any time. This will remove locally stored data from your device (backups created outside the app will remain where you stored them).
  • If you are using any cloud/online services linked with the App, you may contact us to request data deletion where applicable.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted inside the App or on our website (if available) with an updated “Last updated” date. Your continued use of the App after such changes means you accept the revised policy.
